Milling and Resurfacing Project on State Route 529 (New Britain Avenue) in West Hartford and Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on State Route 529 (New Britain Avenue) in West Hartford and Hartford from Route 173 (Newington Road) to Newington Avenue starting Sunday, July 7, 2024. The project DOT01710506CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.33-mile segment of State Route 529 (New Britain Avenue) in West Hartford and Hartford from Route 173 (Newington Road) to Newington Avenue. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading on Sunday, July 7 to Tuesday, July 9, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, July 28 to Monday, August 5, 2024, by Tilcon.
This project is included in the District 1, CTDOT’s 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on State Route 529 (New Britain Avenue) in West Hartford and Hartford from Route 173 (Newington Road) to Newington Avenue. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is Sunday, July 7 to Monday, August 5, 2024, 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
