Forestry Mowing on Route 91 in Wethersfield to Route 9 in Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing ramp and lane closure for forestry mowing that will begin June 24, 2024, in Wethersfield and Middletown. The project consists of using a material handler with forestry mower to improve sight lines and remove vegetation.

To ensure the safety of the public, CTDOT is removing dead, diseased, and decaying trees. Additionally, trees and vegetation that have grown into the clear zone, which is the safe space along the side of the roadway, are also being removed. This work helps save lives in the event of a crash or vehicle leaving the roadway. This project is be performed by CT DOT contractor J&J Brothers LLC. starting Monday, June 24, 2024.

LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO

Motorist can except ramp and lane closure on Route 91 from Exits 29-21 and Route 9 beginning June 24, 2024, and ending August 2, 2024. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists around the work zone. Woking hours will be from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday-Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. No work will be performed around any scheduled holidays.
