98-Day Closure of Bridge 02591 over Fuller Brook on Route 97 in Hampton
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the replacement of Bridge 02591 over Fuller Brook on Route 97 in Hampton will require a 98-day closure of Route 97 Pomfret Road over Fuller Brook in Hampton. The closure will occur on Monday, May 13 until Sunday, August 18, 2024, utilizing a 21.39-mile detour.
CTDOT Project No. 0062-0096 was awarded to New England Road, Inc. at a cost of $2,463,762.00 on September 25, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed November 12, 2024. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich, Connecticut.

Route 97 in Hampton will be closed from May 13 to August 18, 2024. Traffic will be detoured and directed onto Route 44, then taken into Route 169, and finally onto Route 6. The detour route will be provided with the necessary signing to guide traffic around the project site.
