Thin Surface Project on Route 8 Northbound in Thomaston, Litchfield, and Harwinton
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a thin surface project will be performed on Route 8 Northbound .05 miles north of the northbound end overpass of Naugatuck River to the underpass of Route 118 (Litchfield Road) between Exits 40-42.
The project consists of a 1” resurfacing of Route 8 Northbound in Thomaston, Litchfield, and Harwinton. The resurfacing of this project is scheduled to occur on Monday May 1, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed Tuesday May 9, 2023.
This project is additional to the Department of Transportation’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Northbound between Exits 40 and 42. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
