The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is developing plans to perform repairs to beam ends and other minor structural work on Bridge No. 03315, North Mountain Road over I-84 westbound in New Britain. The purpose of the project is to address structural deficiencies primarily related to deteriorated beam ends, but also includes cleaning and painting beam ends, replacing bearings, repairing weep holes, replacing bridge joints, and reconstructing deck ends.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in July 2025, with construction anticipated to start in the spring of 2026, assuming acceptance of the project, availability of funding, and receipt of any required right-of-way and environmental permits. This project will be undertaken with both Federal and State funds.
It is CTDOT policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community shares its concerns with us to assist in the project’s development. At this time, it is anticipated that an informational meeting or formal public hearing will not be necessary.
