Strawberry Hill Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project over I-95 Continues

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that full-depth pavement reconstruction associated with the Strawberry Hill Avenue Bridge rehabilitation over I-95 will begin Monday, April 17. Work includes the full-depth pavement reconstruction ahead of the project's final paving. Work is weekdays only, from Monday, April 17, 2023 to Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 7:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

 

The Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00061, Strawberry Hill Avenue over 1-95, consists of the bridge and roadway rehabilitation. The full-depth pavement operation is necessary to facilitate the completion of the paving of Strawberry Hill Avenue on the bridge. CTDOT Project No. 102-363 was awarded to McNamee Construction Corp. at the cost of $8,129,273.35 on March 22, 2019, is scheduled to be completed in 2023 and is administered by the Office of Construction – District 5, New Haven.

 

DETOUR INFO:

There are no planned detours during the paving operations. However, motorists should use caution as they travel through the work area as the roadway will be unsurfaced before final paving begins. Strawberry Hill Avenue will have alternating lanes in both directions between Beacon Street and Norden Place from Monday, April 17, 2022, from 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM through Thursday, April 27—no weekend or night work is anticipated. The traffic pattern is required to perform paving construction operations. All local property access will be maintained.
