The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that start of work on Route 69 and Route 72 will begin on April 3, 2023.

The configuration of the intersection of Route 72 and Route 69 will be improved by realigning Route 72 north to provide a more conventional four-way intersection.  Dedicated left turn lanes will be added to both approaches of Route 72 and the existing dedicated left turn lanes on the approaches of Route 69 will remain.  The existing Divinity Street/Route 72 intersection will be eliminated, and Divinity Street will be terminated at its intersection of Landry Street.  A new "T" type intersection will be formed by extending Pratt Street north to Route 72.  Sidewalk and crosswalk enhancements will be included to provide pedestrian connectivity.

DOT Project No. 0017-0187 was awarded to Richards Corporation at a cost of $7,533,501.55 on November 15, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2025.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
