Start of Roadwork on Route 9 in Cromwell

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the application of ultra-thin bonded overlay preservation treatments on the following state roads in Cromwell:

Route 9 northbound from Route 372 (West Street) to .09 miles south of North Road over Route 9 northbound, and Route 9 southbound from .06 miles north of North Road over Route 9 southbound to Route 372 (West Street) over Route 9 southbound, along with associated I-91 ramps from Route 9. 

This project consists of catch basin top replacement and surface treatments including patching, crack sealing, milling and placement of Ultra-Thin Bonded Overlay.

DOT Project No. 0171-0487 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. at a cost of $12,129.769.50 on February 28, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2023.  The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Beginning April 30, 2023 with anticipated completion of November 30, 2023, motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 9 northbound from Route 372 (West Street) to .09 miles south of North Road over Route 9 northbound, and Route 9 southbound from .06 miles north of North Road over Route 9 southbound to Route 372 (West Street) over Route 9 southbound along with associated I-91 ramps from Route 9. 

These lane closures may occur Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and/or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.  In addition, work activities may occur on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
