The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing the application of ultra-thin bonded overlay preservation treatments on the following sections of state roads in Cromwell, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, Glastonbury, and East Hartford: Route 3 from Route 372 (West Street) to the north junction of Route 160 (New Britain Avenue) and Route 3 from Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway) to the end of Route 3 at the Route 2 westbound interchange beginning on April 6, 2023.
This project consists of catch basin top replacement and surface treatments including patching, crack sealing, milling and placement of Ultra-Thin Bonded Overlay on State-owned and maintained roads as well as minor sidewalk and traffic signal upgrades at various intersections.
DOT Project No. 0171-0487 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. at a cost of $12,129.769.50 on February 28, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed on November 30, 2023. The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Beginning on April 6, 2023 with anticipated completion of November 30, 2023, motorists can expect various lane closures on:
- Route 3 from Route 372 (West Street) to the north junction of Route 160 (New Britain Avenue)
- Route 3 from Route 99 (Silas Deane Highway) to the end of Route 3 at the Route 2 westbound interchange.
These lane closures may occur Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and/or 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. In addition, work activities may occur on Saturday and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m.
