Safety Improvement Project: Guiderail and Attenuator Installation on Interstate 91 North and Southbound in Wallingford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a safety improvement project will be performed on Interstate 91 north and southbound in Wallingford starting on Wednesday, November 29 through Friday, December 22, 2023. This project consists of guiderail and attenuator installation on a 1.24-mile segment of Interstate 91 north and southbound in Wallingford. It is included in the CTDOT’s safety improvement program and is being performed by Total Fence.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect a left lane closure on Interstate 91 southbound, between Exits 14 (East Center Street) and 13 (Wharton Brook Connector) in Wallingford and a left lane closure on Interstate 91 northbound between Exits 12 (Washington Avenue) and 14 (East Center Street). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
