The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor town line to Newberry Road starting on Monday, August 21 through Thursday, September 21, 2023. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.54-mile segment of Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor town line to Newberry Road. This project is scheduled to begin milling on Monday, August 21, to Wednesday, August 30, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin the night of Monday, September 4 to Thursday, September 21, 2023.
No work will be performed during the Labor Day weekend, Friday, September 1 through Sunday, September 3, 2023.
The milling will be performed by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. and the resurfacing will be performed by Galasso Materials.
This project is included in CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 5 in East Windsor from the South Windsor / East Windsor town line to Newberry Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
