The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that there will be nighttime lane closures on I-95 northbound between exit 24 and exit 26 starting on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, to Friday, August 4, 2023, between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. This project is to increase the exiting capacity on I-95 northbound at exit 27A in Bridgeport by the widening ramp to accommodate a two-lane exit from I-95 northbound to Route 8 northbound. The construction phase of this project began April 1, 2022.
In order to facilitate this work, the I-95 NB exit 27A ramp will be closed during the night of Thursday, August 3, 2023, and detour traffic starting at 11:00 p.m. and concluding at 5:00 a.m. the following day. The rain date for this closure is Friday, August 4, 2023.
CTDOT Project No. 0015-0382 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company of Avon, CT on December 7, 2021 for $8,924,453.30 with an official start date of April 1, 2022. The project is expected to be completed in December 2023. This project is administered by the Office of Construction – District 3, New Haven.
LANE CLOSURE and DETOUR INFO –
Traffic will be detoured to I-95 exit 28. Turn left from the off-ramp and follow signs to I-95 southbound on-ramp. On I-95 southbound take Exit 27 to Route 8 northbound on ramp. Detour signs will be in place. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized when needed to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions and seek alternate routes.
