Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 8 in Harwinton/Torrington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and a 1” resurfacing project is scheduled for Route 8 Northbound and Southbound between Exits 42-45 in Harwinton and Torrington.
The project consists of milling and 1” resurfacing a 4.97-mile segment of Route 8 in Harwinton & Torrington. The milling of this project is scheduled to occur Monday, May 8, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed on Friday, June 2, 2023. The 1” resurfacing of this project is scheduled to occur on Monday, May 15, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed Monday, June 5, 2023. No work performed on the day before or the day after the Memorial Day Holiday.
The final 2” resurfacing of this project will be performed later in 2023. This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 Northbound and Southbound between Exits 42 and 45. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
