Milling and Resurfacing Project: Route 97 in Norwich

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 97 in Norwich starting on Wednesday, September 20 through Friday, September 29, 2023. The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.19-mile segment of Route 97 in Norwich. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Wednesday, September 20 through Friday, September 22, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, September 25 through Friday, September 29, 2023.

This project is included in CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 97 from Route 12 (Jewett City Road) to 0.20 mi. north of the north junction of Route 169 southbound (Providence Street) in Norwich. Crash attenuator vehicles, traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
