Milling and Resurfacing Project: Route 58 & 136 in Easton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 58 & 136 in Easton starting on Monday, August 14 through Friday, September 15, 2023. The project consists of milling and resurfacing 4.25 miles of Route 58 in Easton .53 miles of Route 136 in Easton. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, August 14, through Friday, August 25, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 27 through Friday, September 15, 2023.

No work will be performed from 6:00 a.m. Friday, September 1 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2023, due to the Labor Day Holiday.

This project is included in the CTDOT’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 136 from Redding Road to Route 58 (Black Rock Road) and lane closures on Route 58 from Route 136 (Westport Road) to Easton/Redding town line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
