Milling and Resurfacing Route 186 in Somers
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 186 in Somers from Route 190 (Main Street) to the Massachusetts State Line.
The project (DOT01710497CN “D”) consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.57-mile segment of Route 186 in Somers from Route 190 (Main Street) to the Massachusetts State Line.
This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading, Inc. on Wednesday May 10, 2023, to Thursday May 18, 2023. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Friday May 19, 2023, to Friday June 2, 2023, by Galasso Materials.
Memorial Day is being observed, and no work will be performed Friday May26, 2023, Saturday May 27, 2023, Sunday May 28, 2023, Monday May 29, 2023, and Tuesday May 30, 2023.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2023 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 186 in Somers from Route 190 (Main Street) to the Massachusetts State Line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
