Installation of Wrong Way Pavement Markings in Greater Hartford Area

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing work for the installation of wrong way pavement markings on various State and municipal roads as well as intersections with limited access off-ramps along Routes 9, 384, 84, 91, 2, 15, 66, 691, 1, 291, 20, and 72 starting August 2, 2023.

This project will systematically install pavement markings on secondary roadways at intersections with limited access off-ramps in the State. These projects will also refresh wrong way arrows and stop bars on the exit ramps. All work will be done within the existing ROW (right of way) where work will be limited to the installation of pavement markings.

DOT Project No. 0171-0494 was awarded to Safety Marking LLC at a cost of $436,180.05 on June 30, 2023 and is scheduled to be completed November 26, 2023. This project is administered by CTDOT Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

Motorists can expect minimal traffic operation impacts on limited access highway ramps and secondary roads Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. as well as Saturday-Sunday between the hours of 6:00 p.m.-10:00 a.m.
