Closure of East Haddam Swing Bridge on Route 82 in East Haddam and Haddam overnight November 11

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a road closure of Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge) will occur on November 11, 2022.

From 11:30 p.m. on November 11, 2022 to 8 a.m. on November 12, 2022, Route 82 over the Connecticut River (East Haddam Swing Bridge) will be closed for bridge balancing. This work cannot be accomplished in concurrence with traffic flow.

 

DOT Project No. 0041-0141 was awarded to American Bridge Company at a cost of $55,255,000 on June 7, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed February 25, 2025.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

There will be a full bridge closure to vehicular traffic over the Connecticut River (Route 82). The schedule for this road closure is 11:30 p.m. on November 11, 2022, to 8:00 a.m. on November 12, 2022.

  

DETOUR INFO

Route 82 Eastbound

From Route 82 East, traffic will be detoured onto Route 9 South to I-95 North to Route 156 North to Route 82 West.

 

Route 82 Westbound

From Route 82 West, traffic will be detoured onto Route 156 South to I-95 South (across the Baldwin Bridge) to Route 9 North to Route 82 East.
