Scheduled Short-Term Closures of Interstate 84 Eastbound and Westbound in West Hartford between Exit 40 and Exit 41

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing several upcoming short-term closures of Interstate 84 Eastbound and Westbound in West Hartford between Exit 40 and Exit 41. Each closure will occur for no more than 15-minute periods on Monday, December 12, 2022 and Tuesday December 13, 2022 between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Multiple short-term closures will be required for the installation and removal of the overhead and cantilever sign structures spanning over both direction of I-84 between Exit 40 and Exit 41.

DOT Project No. 0155-0171 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $54 million on March 2, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed May 30, 2023.  This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

  • I-84 Eastbound and I-84 Westbound – All lanes will be closed intermittently for 15-minute periods on Monday, December 12, 2022 and Tuesday December 13, 2022, between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. 
  • I-84 Eastbound - 2 lanes closure will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 and Tuesday December 13, 2022 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • I-84 Westbound - 2 lanes closure will occur Monday, December 12, 2022 and Tuesday December 13, 2022 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Traffic will not be detoured off the highway for these closures.
