Milling and Resurfacing Route 34 in West Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 34 in West Haven-New Haven.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing 0.99 miles of Route 34 in West Haven. This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, June 12, 2022 through Monday, June 27, 2022. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, June 12, 2022 through Thursday, June 16, 2022. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, June 19, 2022 through Monday, June 27, 2022.

      No work will be performed from 6 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 due to                the Independence Day Holiday.

       This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 34 from Morris Avenue to Ella T. Grasso Boulevard. The work schedule for this project is Sunday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
