The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that phase 3 of the Structural Monitoring System for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge will require “Live Load Testing” to be performed on all lanes of the bridge. This will require the full closure of I-95 in the area of the main span on the newly constructed bridge. This work will require full closures for a brief 15-minute period between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m.
DOT Project No. 0092-0676 was awarded to Bridge Diagnostics, Inc. at a cost of $1,276,177.00 on March 26, 2020 and is scheduled to be complete on April 23, 2023. This project is administered by the Office of Construction, District 3, in New Haven.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
The contractor will be permitted to halt traffic on I-95 and nearby on-ramps for 15 minute periods while the tests are conducted. Work is scheduled to take place from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. on November 7 and November 8. The night of November 9 is a contingency date if weather or other issues arise. Advance notice for such closures will be provided with details posted on changeable message signs at the approaches to the project area.
