The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that emergency work to replace the culvert (Bridge No. 07121) carrying Foot Sawmill Brook under Route 94 in Hebron will begin on September 19, 2022.
Bridge No. 07121 carries Foot Sawmill Brook under Route 94 (Gilead St.) in the town Hebron has reached the end of its service life and is now in a compromised state necessitating the emergency replacement of the culvert. Work will consist of replacing the existing 65’ 8” long 6’ 1” high and 8’ 10” wide arch pipe with a new pipe arch. A new end wall will be constructed at the outlet and repairs will be made to the exiting inlet head wall. Drainage and Safety improvements will also be made to approximately 510 feet of roadway along this section of road at Bridge No. 07121.
An Emergency Declaration was issued for DOT Project No. 0066-0111 and awarded to Brunalli Construction Company at an estimated cost of $500,000.00 on June 9, 2022 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2022. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
There will be periodic lane closures on Route 94 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. between August 31, 2022 and September 18, 2022.
DETOUR INFO
Route 94 will be closed from September 18, 2022 to November 19, 2022. East bound traffic will be detoured from Route 94 East onto Route 83 North, then onto Route 534 East, and finally onto Route 85 South. West bound traffic will be detoured from Route 94 West onto Route 85 North, then onto Route 534 West, and finally onto Route 83 South.
