Safety Improvement Project on Various Towns in Eastern Connecticut
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a safety improvement project will be performed in various towns in Eastern Connecticut.
The project consists of installing rumble strips on Routes 12 and 14 in Plainfield, Route 165 in Norwich/ Preston, Route 156 in Lyme/Old Lyme, Route 12 in Lisbon/Griswold, Route 163 in Montville/Bozrah, and Route 6 in Hampton. This project is scheduled to be performed on Sunday evening, October 9, 2022, to Friday morning, October 28, 2022. Work will end at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, October 7, 2022, and will resume at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening, October 11, 2022, due to the Columbus Day Holiday.
LANE CLOSURE INFO:
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Routes 12 and 14 in Plainfield, Route 165 in Norwich/Preston, Route 156 in Lyme/Old Lyme, Route 12 in Lisbon/Griswold, Route 163 in Montville/Bozrah, and Route 6 in Hampton. State police, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Sunday evenings -Friday mornings).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
