The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that to facilitate construction work associated with the Route 8/I-84 Interchange (Mixmaster) rehabilitation project in Waterbury, a lane on Interstate 84 Eastbound will need to close during daytime hours on Saturday, November 5, 2022.
To meet tight paving schedules, one lane on I-84 Eastbound will need to be closed on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The project team will be placing waterproofing membrane on the newly rehabilitated bridge decks which prepares the bridges for paving. This needs to be completed during daytime hours due to temperature restrictions needed for the membrane to adhere correctly. Motorists are advised that this lane closure will cause traffic delays.
The project consists of the rehabilitation of numerous bridges located within the Route 8 and I-84 Interchange (DOT Project No. 151-326/151-312/151-313) and was awarded to Walsh Construction Company at a cost of $152,960,945.27 on April 18, 2018.
** Please note that the start of this closure can change at any time based on weather or resources. **
