The Connecticut Department of Transportation announces weekend lane closures and lane shifts approximately a half mile south of Exit 18 on I-395 starting October 15, 2021.
Weekend lane closures and lane shifts are required to install a precast concrete box culvert at an unnamed brook in the vicinity of the Canterbury Turnpike overpass, on I-395 in Norwich.
DOT Project No. 0103-0266 was awarded to the John Rocchio Corporation at a cost of $2,457,618.61 on December 22, 2020 and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2021.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Beginning Friday, October 15, 2021, lane closures and/or lane shifts will be installed approximately a half mile south of Exit 18 on I-395 NB and SB. The lane closure will be installed from Friday at 7 PM until Monday at 2 PM in the northbound direction, and Friday at 7 PM until Monday at 5 AM in the southbound direction. The weekend closures will occur for three consecutive weekends to complete the box culvert installation.
Message boards, temporary concrete barriers, traffic drums, cones, signs, and pavement markings will be used to guide motorists through the work zone.
