U.S. Route 1 Operational Lanes from Lambert Road to Route 114

The project involves the replacement of structurally and hydraulically deficient twin 3' radius circular arch culverts constructed in 1926 and widening the existing roadway and adding a turning lane on Boston Post Road (Route 1). Short term detour routes will be provided during the period when the roadway requires milling and paving.

DOT Project No. 0106-0122 was awarded to Northern Construction Services of Palmer, MA on October 4, 2017 at a cost of $4,797,251.00 and is scheduled for completion on August 28, 2022.  The project is being administered by the Department of Transportation - Office of Construction, District 3 in New Haven.

LANE CLOSURE and DETOUR INFO:

Northbound:

Head northwest from Orange Center Rd to Route 34 (Derby Ave/Derby Turnpike), turn right onto Route 34 (Derby Ave/Derby Turnpike), turn right onto Racebrook Rd to Boston Post Road (Route 1).

Southbound:

Head northwest on Racebrook Rd to Route 34, turn left onto Route 34 (Derby Ave/Derby Turnpike), turn left onto Orange Center Rd to Boston Post Road (Route 1).

ALL business access for properties located within the construction zone will remain open, though traffic may only be able to access from one direction or the other on Route 1 during the construction activity.
