Stamford Station Track Platform Closed

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the stairs to access Track 5 Platform from South State Street will be permanently removed on December 6, 2021. Access to the platform will be restored in the Summer of 2023 from level 2 of the new Stamford garage.

The project consists of a new seven and a half story parking garage using the Design-Build Method. The garage will have a ramp connecting the second floor to the Track 5 platform, a pedestrian bridge connecting the garage to the Stamford Station, and the realignment of South State Street in Stamford.

DOT Project No. 0301-0047 was awarded to Yonkers Contracting Company at a cost of $77,211,000.00 on May 7, 2021 and is scheduled to be completed May 28, 2023.  This project is administered by the District 5 Construction, Stamford.

PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC INFO

This closure will only affect pedestrian traffic. Pedestrians will cross Washington Blvd. and access the Station through the South state Street entrance which will put them directly on the Track 5 Platform.
