The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled nightly closures of Route 8 southbound and Exit 19 (I-84 westbound to Route 8 southbound) in Waterbury from September 7, 2021, to October 1, 2021. The closures will occur nightly from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The closures are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of the Route 8/I-84 Mixmaster.
CLOSURE INFORMATION
Route 8 Southbound (starting at Exit 32) will be closed nightly from September 7, 2021, to October 1, 2021, from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours:
- Route 8 Southbound: Motorists should follow Route 8 southbound to Exit 32 (Riverside Street). Follow Riverside Street to Route 8 southbound Naugatuck/Bridgeport on-ramp.
- Exit 19: Motorists should take Exit 18 (Highland Avenue). Take a right onto Highland Avenue and a right onto Chase Parkway to the on-ramp to I-84 eastbound. Take Exit 19 to Route 8 southbound.
