Scheduled Closure and Detour of Beacon Street in Norwalk for Bridge Construction Activities
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Beacon Street in Norwalk from Monday, August 23, 2021, through Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Beacon Street will be closed at the intersection of Beacon Street at Strawberry Hill Avenue and Beacon Street at MacIntosh Road. The closure is necessary to facilitate ongoing construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge0061 carrying Strawberry Hill Avenue over I-95 in Norwalk.
Motorists traveling on Strawberry Hill Avenue and Sunset Hill Avenue in the vicinity of Beacon Street can expect to be detoured onto Tierney Street. Posted traffic control signs will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. Local access for residents between Macintosh Road and Strawberry Hill Avenue on Beacon Street will remain available.
