The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that pothole repairs are scheduled to be performed on I-84 westbound and Route 72 westbound in Plainville. Work is scheduled to be performed on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, with a rain date of Thursday, October 7, 2021.
Motorists can expect the right lane to be closed on I-84 westbound and the left and center lanes to closed on Route 72 westbound. Also, motorists can expect the closure of the Route 72 to I-84 westbound merge in Plainville. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this repair is 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Route 72 to I-84 Merge Detour:
- Motorists on Route 72 westbound should continue past the merge area and take Exit 2. At the end of the Exit 2 ramp, take a right onto Route 372 eastbound, continue to the third traffic signal and then take a right onto Crooked Street (SR 536), continue over the bridge to the second traffic signal then take a right onto Woodford Avenue, continue to the next traffic signal, and take a left onto the I-84 westbound on-ramp.
