Opening of I-84 Eastbound Exit 52 to I-91 Southbound in Hartford Scheduled for May 18, 2021, Weather Permitting
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the planned opening of the I-84 eastbound Exit 52 ramp to I-91 southbound in Hartford on Tuesday May 18, 2021, weather permitting.
The opening signifies completion of superstructure rehabilitation work on bridge 01686B which impacted traffic from the I-84 eastbound Exit 52 ramp to I-91 southbound. Additional project work will continue beneath the ramp including substructure concrete repairs, structural steel repairs, and painting beam ends utilizing the lane closures below.
Columbus Boulevard
- The left two lanes of Columbus Boulevard between Morgan Street and Talcott Street will be closed until October 22, 2021.
Route 44 (Morgan Street South)
- Expect daytime temporary lane closures between 9 A.M. to 3 P.M.
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 6 P.M. to 6 A.M.
I-84 Eastbound between Exits 46 and 53
- Expect nighttime temporary lane closures between 7 P.M. to 4 A.M.
DOT Project No. 0063-0654 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $5,289,773.40 on January 14, 2021, and is scheduled to be completed on October 22, 2021.
