The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 59 and SR 713 in Fairfield.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing 2.62 miles of Route 59 and SR 713 in Fairfield. This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, August 29, 2021, through Wednesday, September 22, 2021. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 29, 2021, through Thursday, September 9, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, September 12, 2021, through Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
No work will occur during the Labor Day weekend from Friday morning September 3, 2021, through Monday, September 6, 2021. Work will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday night through Friday morning).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
