The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 2A in Montville and Preston.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.68-mile segment of Route 2A in Montville and Preston. The milling portion of the project will occur Monday, July 19, 2021, through Tuesday, August 10, 2021. The resurfacing portion the project will occur Friday, August 13, 2021, through Friday, September 10, 2021. No work will be performed on September 3, 6, and 7, 2021, due to the Labor Day holiday.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 2A from the I-395 overpass in Montville to Route 12 in Preston, including the ramps. State police, local police, crash attenuator vehicles, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
