Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 140 in East Windsor and Ellington

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 140 from Route 191 (Broad Brook Road) to Route 286 (Main Street) in East Windsor and Ellington.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.40-mile segment of Route 140 from Route 191 (Broad Brook Road) to Route 286 (Main Street) in East Windsor and Ellington. This milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Wednesday, May 12, 2021, to Thursday, May 27, 2021. The resurfacing portion of the project is anticipated to occur from Wednesday, June 2, 2021, to Wednesday, June 23, 2021. No work will be performed on the day before or after the Memorial Day Holiday.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 140 from Route 191 (Broad Brook Road) to Route 286 (Main Street) in East Windsor and Ellington. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
