The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-95 northbound in Stonington and North Stonington (including ramps).
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 7.32-mile segment of I-95 northbound in Stonington and North Stonington (including ramps). The milling portion of the project is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 26, 2021, through Saturday morning, October 16, 2021. The resurfacing portion of the project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday evening, October 17, 2021, through Saturday morning, November 6, 2021.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane and ramp closures to occur on I-95 northbound from Taugwonk Road in Stonington to the Rhode Island State Line. State Police, crash attenuator vehicles, an overhead message sign board and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Saturday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
