Milling and Resurfacing Project on I-95 in Stonington, North Stonington, and the Boom Bridge Overpass

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-95 northbound in Stonington and North Stonington, and southbound at the Boom Bridge overpass in North Stonington.

 

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 7.32-mile segment of I-95 northbound in Stonington and North Stonington (including ramps) *and southbound at the Boom Bridge overpass in North Stonington. The milling segment for this project is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 26, 2021, through *Saturday morning, October 9, 2021.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on *Monday evening, October 11, 2021, through Saturday morning, October 23, 2021.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

 

Motorists can expect lane and ramp closures to occur on I-95 northbound from Taugwonk Road in Stonington to the Rhode Island State Line and southbound at the Boom Bridge overpass in North Stonington. One state trooper, crash attenuator vehicles, an overhead message sign board, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
