Joint and Crack Sealing Project Scheduled on Route 9 northbound and southbound in Old Saybrook and Essex
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a joint and crack sealing project will be performed on Route 9 northbound and southbound in Old Saybrook and Essex.
The work is scheduled to occur from Monday, May 24, 2021, through Tuesday, June 15, 2021. No work will be performed on Friday, May 28, or Monday, May 31, 2021, due to the Memorial Day holiday.
Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 9 northbound and southbound, from I-95 in Old Saybrook to Exit 3 in Essex. State Police, crash attenuator vehicles, and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
