• 9/15/2020 Guiderail Upgrades on the Wilbur Cross Parkway in New Haven and Woodbridge

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (Department) Office of Engineering is developing plans to upgrade the guiderail along the Wilbur Cross Parkway (CT Route 15) in New Haven and Woodbridge.

• 9/11/2020 Lane Closures for Bridge Inspections - September 14 -18

  Lane closures will be required for bridge safety inspections and evaluations around Connecticut, September 14 – 18, 2020, weather permitting. View the complete list and plan ahead. (NB and SB mean northbound and southbound; EB and WB mean eastbound and westbound.)

• 9/11/2020 Scheduled Six-Week Closure and Detour of Route 319 in Stafford for Construction Activities

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Route 319 in Stafford from September 21, through October 30, 2020. The closure is necessary to facilitate roadway reconstruction activities, including installation of new drainage, realignment of the roadway, and reconstruction of vertical grades to improve sight lines on Route 319 (Orcuttville Road) between Route 32 and Route 190 in Stafford.

• 9/11/2020 Scheduled Closure of Exit 9 Ramps on I-84 Westbound in Newtown

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a scheduled five-night closure of the I-84 westbound Exit 9 on and off-ramps in Newtown from September 13, to September 17, 2020. The Exit 9 Ramp will be closed each night, beginning at 8:00 PM, and will reopen at 5:00 AM the following morning. The closure and detour are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction and safety improvement activities. All work is weather permitting.

  The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting regarding the proposed Road Diet Project on Route 349 in Groton, on Monday, October 5, 2020. • 9/9/2020 Public Information Meeting Regarding Proposed Replacement of Bridge 06141 Carrying Strawberry Road over Abbey Brook in Ellington

  The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the proposed replacement of Bridge 06141 (carrying Strawberry Road over Abbey Brook), on Thursday, September 24, 2020.   The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction for upgrades and renovations to the Windsor Train Station located in Windsor.

• 9/9/2020 Milling and Paving on Route 202 in Litchfield and Torrington

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work for the project to mill and pave on Route 202 in Litchfield and Torrington.

• 9/9/2020 Milling and Paving on Route 349 Expressway and Non-Expressway Sections from I-95 to Shennecossett Road in Groton

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime pavement preservation project will be performed on Route 349 northbound and southbound in Groton on the expressway and non-expressway portions, from I-95 to Shennecossett Road. The milling operations will begin on September 14th 2020, with paving operations expected to begin on September 19th 2020.

• 9/9/2020 Scheduled Closure of I-95 Southbound Exit 4 Off-Ramp in Greenwich for Eversource Work Activity

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure of the I-95 southbound Exit 4 off-ramp in Greenwich to facilitate work activities being performed by Eversource Energy via Encroachment Permit.

• 9/8/2020 Nighttime Utility Project on Merritt Parkway in Fairfield and Norwalk

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a utility project on Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) north and south that will involve short-term traffic halts that will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2020 into Monday, September 21, 2020.

• 9/4/2020 Construction, Inspection and Maintenance Activities Restricted for Upcoming Labor Day Weekend

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that there will be no lane closures as a result of maintenance, inspection or construction activities on all interstate and limited access roadways this coming Labor Day weekend from 12pm Friday, September 4th until 9am Tuesday, September 8th. Only work of an emergency nature will be allowed.
