• 5/27/2020 Resurfacing along Route 68 in Cheshire and Wallingford

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 68 in Cheshire and Wallingford beginning Sunday, May 31, 2020.

• 5/26/2020 Rehabilitation of Bridge 03295 Carrying Route 190 Ove the Connecticut River and Amtrak

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the commencement of work for the rehabilitation of Bridge 03295 carrying Route 190 over the Connecticut River and Amtrak in Enfield and Suffield.

• 5/21/2020 Lane Shifts and Scheduled Four-Month Ramp Closures on Route 8 in Thomaston

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing lane shifts on Route 8, the scheduled four-month closure of the Route 8 southbound Exit 38 off-ramp, and scheduled four-month closure of the Route 8 northbound Exit 38 on-ramp. The lane shifts and closures are necessary to facilitate Stage 2 construction activities associated with the rehabilitation of Bridges 03350 and 03351 on Route 8 in Thomaston.

• 5/21/2020 Scheduled One day closure of Route 66 at the Natchaug River in Windham for Bridge Work

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a one-day, daytime closure of Route 66 at Natchaug River in Windham to facilitate the replacement of Bridge 00490 over the Natchaug River. The closure will occur on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 7 AM until 5:30 PM. If circumstances warrant (inclement weather), an alternate date of 6/4/2020 will be allowed with the same hours of closure.

• 5/20/2020 Resurfacing Project along Route 71 in Meriden and Berlin

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on a 1.74-mile section of Route 71 from the I-691 overpass in Meriden to the north junction of Butler Street in Berlin, Sunday, May 31, to Thursday, June 11, 2020.

• 5/20/2020 Paving Project on I-395 in Montville and Norwich

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a paving project on I-395 in Montville and Norwich will begin on May 25, 2020.

• 5/19/2020 Traffic Control Signal Revisions in Various Connecticut Towns

  The Department of Transportation (Department) is developing plans to remove the nighttime flashing operation, install video detection, and replace traffic controllers at 43 state-owned and maintained traffic signals. The following intersections are included:

• 5/19/2020 Roadside Herbicide Spraying Program to Begin

  The Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a roadside herbicide spraying program from June 1, 2020, through August 31, 2020, along Interstates 84, 91, 95, 384, 395, 691 and all other divided highways and secondary roads in accordance with the Department’s vegetation management guidelines.

• 5/19/2020 Traffic Control Signal Revisions in Various Southwestern Connecticut Towns

  The Department of Transportation (Department) is developing plans to remove the nighttime flashing operation, install video detection, and replace traffic controllers at select state-owned and maintained traffic signals in southwestern Connecticut. The following intersections are included:

• 5/18/2020 Scheduled Detour of SR 528 (Turnpike Road) over Gillettes Brook in Somers

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of SR 528 (Turnpike Road) in Somers beginning on June 2, 2020, and ending on September 30, 2020. SR 528 will be detoured from Route 190 (Main Street) to the intersection of Battle Street and Mountain Road.

• 5/17/2020 Road Work Restricted for Upcoming Memorial Day Weekend

  Road work over the Memorial Day weekend -- from 3 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Tuesday -- will be restricted to emergency work only.

• 5/14/2020 Lane Closures for Bridge Inspections - May 18 - 22

  Lane closures will be required for bridge safety inspections and evaluations around Connecticut, May 18 – 22, 2020, weather permitting. View the complete list and plan ahead. (NB and SB mean northbound and southbound; EB and WB mean eastbound and westbound.)

• 5/14/2020 Scheduled Closure and Detour of Route 14 in Sterling

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Route 14 over the Moosup River in Sterling. The closure will begin on June 1, 2020, and will remain in place through August 17, 2020. Route 14, at the intersection of Church Street and Main Street will be detoured.

• 5/14/2020 Replacement of Bridge 05587 Carrying SR 528 over Gillettes Brook in Somers

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work will commence for the replacement of Bridge 05587 which carries SR 528 over Gillettes Brook in Somers.

• 5/13/2020 Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing on Route 1 in Westport and Fairfield

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 in Westport and Fairfield beginning Sunday, May 17, 2020.
