Scheduled Nightly Closure and Detour of Route 202/Route 67 over the Housatonic River in New Milford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled nightly closure and detour of Route 202/Route 67 in New Milford to facilitate ongoing construction activities related to the rehabilitation of Bridge 00901 (over the Housatonic River). The closures will be in place nightly, between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020, through Friday, September 11, 2020.

Update - Scheduled Detour on Route 57 in Weston for Bridge Work POSTPONED
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the previously scheduled detour of Route 57 in Weston to facilitate bridge construction work (August 9 – 29), has been POSTPONED due to storm related damage in the area. A press release will be reissued when the detour is rescheduled.

Installation and Revision of Traffic Control Signals in Various Towns
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that preliminary work including lane closures is scheduled to begin on August 10, 2020, (weather dependent) for the installation of traffic control signals in various towns. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the detouring of Route 57 in the Weston to facilitate repairs to Bridge 06768, originally scheduled for August 3, 2020, has been rescheduled to begin on August 9, 2020, and will remain in place for approximately 14 days.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a one-night scheduled ramp closure on I-84 eastbound in Newtown at Exit 9 on August 9th, 2020. The Exit 9 ramp will be closed, beginning at 9:00 PM, and will reopen at 5:00 AM the following morning. The closure and detour is necessary to facilitate construction/safety improvement activities. All work is weather permitting.

Scheduled Nighttime Closures of Exit 41 Ramps on the Merritt Parkway in Westport
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that continued preparations for final paving on the Merritt Parkway Improvement Project in Fairfield and Westport will require the nighttime closure of Exit 41 (on and off ramps) for pavement milling work, August 5 through August 7, 2020, from 6 PM to 6 AM, each day.

Statewide Replacement of Highway Sheet Aluminum Signs on Limited Access Highways
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) is developing plans to replace sheet aluminum highway signs along limited access highways, statewide. The types of signs that will be replaced include but are not limited to Mile Markers, Exit Gore signs, Speed Limit signs, Merge signs, and Route Confirmation signs. Additionally, all “Old Exit” panels on I-395, CT-2A, and S.R. 695 will be removed.
