• 8/10/2020 Scheduled Nightly Closure and Detour of Route 202/Route 67 over the Housatonic River in New Milford

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled nightly closure and detour of Route 202/Route 67 in New Milford to facilitate ongoing construction activities related to the rehabilitation of Bridge 00901 (over the Housatonic River). The closures will be in place nightly, between the hours of 8 PM and 6 AM beginning on Monday, August 17, 2020, through Friday, September 11, 2020.

• 8/6/2020 Update - Scheduled Detour on Route 57 in Weston for Bridge Work POSTPONED

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the previously scheduled detour of Route 57 in Weston to facilitate bridge construction work (August 9 – 29), has been POSTPONED due to storm related damage in the area. A press release will be reissued when the detour is rescheduled.

• 8/5/2020 Repairs on bridge over I-95 in Clinton

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge repair will be performed on Bridge #00220 carrying Nod Road over I-95 southbound and northbound in the town of Clinton, Tuesday, August 11, through Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

• 8/5/2020 Resurfacing along Route 83 in Ellington and Somers

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 83 from the south junction of Route 140 (Maple Street) to Route 190 in Ellington and Somers beginning Thursday, August 6, 2020.

• 8/5/2020 Bridge Joint Installation on Route 9 from Chester to Essex

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on Route 9 northbound and southbound from Chester to Essex, beginning Monday, August 17, 2020.

• 8/5/2020 Nighttime resurfacing along Route 106 and Route 124 in New Canaan

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime milling & resurfacing will be performed on Route 106 & Route 124 in New Canaan beginning Sunday night, August 9, 2020.

• 8/3/2020 Installation and Revision of Traffic Control Signals in Various Towns

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that preliminary work including lane closures is scheduled to begin on August 10, 2020, (weather dependent) for the installation of traffic control signals in various towns. Work will be performed at various intersections in Cromwell, Manchester, South Windsor, Newington, Plainville, Southington and Wolcott at the following locations:

• 8/2/2020 Public Information Meeting Regarding the Rehabilitation of Bridge 00230 Carrying Willard Ave over I-95 in Westbrook

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting regarding the proposed rehabilitation of Bridge 00230 Carrying Willard Ave over I-95 in Westbrook, on Thursday, September 3, 2020. The formal presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Refer to the project webpage for more detail: https://portal.ct.gov/DOTWestbrook0154-0125.

• 8/2/2020 RESCHEDULED Detour for Route 57 in Weston for Bridge Construction Activities

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the detouring of Route 57 in the Weston to facilitate repairs to Bridge 06768, originally scheduled for August 3, 2020, has been rescheduled to begin on August 9, 2020, and will remain in place for approximately 14 days.

• 7/29/2020 Scheduled One-Night Ramp Closure on I-84 in Newtown, Exit 9

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a one-night scheduled ramp closure on I-84 eastbound in Newtown at Exit 9 on August 9th, 2020. The Exit 9 ramp will be closed, beginning at 9:00 PM, and will reopen at 5:00 AM the following morning. The closure and detour is necessary to facilitate construction/safety improvement activities. All work is weather permitting.

• 7/29/2020 Scheduled Nighttime Closures of Exit 41 Ramps on the Merritt Parkway in Westport

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that continued preparations for final paving on the Merritt Parkway Improvement Project in Fairfield and Westport will require the nighttime closure of Exit 41 (on and off ramps) for pavement milling work, August 5 through August 7, 2020, from 6 PM to 6 AM, each day.

• 7/29/2020 Scheduled Two-Night Ramp Closure on I-84 in Newtown, Exit 10

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a two-night scheduled ramp closure on I-84 westbound in Newtown at Exit 10, on August 5th and August 6th, 2020. The Exit 10 ramps will be closed each night, beginning at 9:00 PM, and will reopen at 5:00 AM the following morning. The closure and detour are necessary to facilitate construction/safety improvement activities. All work is weather permitting.

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start work, on August 3, 2020, for the construction of a modern roundabout at Route 1 and Route 22 in Guilford, Branford and North Branford.

• 7/21/2020 Statewide Replacement of Highway Sheet Aluminum Signs on Limited Access Highways

  The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) is developing plans to replace sheet aluminum highway signs along limited access highways, statewide. The types of signs that will be replaced include but are not limited to Mile Markers, Exit Gore signs, Speed Limit signs, Merge signs, and Route Confirmation signs. Additionally, all “Old Exit” panels on I-395, CT-2A, and S.R. 695 will be removed.
