The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that weekday detours associated with safety improvements on Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street in Bridgeport will begin on or about April 27, 2020.
The project involves the realignment of Route 127 in the vicinity of Evers Street .
Starting on or about April 27, 2020, motorists traveling on Route 127 (East Main Street) in the vicinity of Beardlsey Park, can expect to be detoured onto Broadbridge Road and Huntington Turnpike. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. Local access to residences and business on Route 127 will be available.
When school is in session, the detour will take place from 9 AM to 3 PM. When school is not in session the detour will take place from 7 AM to 5 PM.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to these schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are urged to remain alert and to use caution in and around the work zone.
Traffic may be impacted on segments of the following routes:
· Route 127 (East Main Street) between Broadbridge Road and Route 730 (Huntington Turnpike)
· Route 730 (Huntington Turnpike) between Broadbridge Road and Route 127 (East Main Street)
DOT Project No. 0015-0335 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company, Inc. at a cost of $4,461,269, on January 6, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2022.
