Traffic Control Signal Equipment Upgrades in Vicinity of Fishbein Park in Wallingford

State Project 0170-3490 will replace the traffic control signal equipment and upgrade the pedestrian control features at the intersection of U.S. Route 5 (Colony Street) at Route 150 (Hall Avenue and Center Street) and Quinnipiac Street, which will meet the latest Federal Guidelines. It should be noted that the intersection abuts the Fishbein Park. However, impacts to the park will be minimal (de minimis) in nature as the afore mentioned upgrades at the intersection will be constructed in close proximity to the existing traffic control signal appurtenances.

Easements are required from the Town for park property which will encompass only the area necessary for sidewalk ramp reconstruction and the installation of traffic control signal support structures and pedestrian signal equipment. These activities will not adversely affect any of the features of the park. The impacts to the park will be limited to only the ground disturbance necessary for installing traffic signal equipment and reconstructing sidewalk ramps in proximity to existing equipment and facilities. It is anticipated that Fishbein Park will remain open during the period of reconstruction.

Residents, business owners, and other interested individuals may contact the Project Manager, Ms. Anna S. Mermelstein via e-mail at Anna.Mermelstein@ct.gov with any questions, comments or concerns by December 3, 2020.
