The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing implementation of a temporary traffic shift during the week of July 27, 2020, to accommodate staged construction associated with the rehabilitation of Bridge 03295 carrying Route 190 over the Connecticut River and AMTRAK in Enfield and Suffield.
To accommodate staged construction, the existing east/westbound alignment will be shifted to the north side of the bridge and full-width lanes will be reduced to 11 feet (including shoulders). Pedestrian access via the bridge sidewalk will be maintained during this stage.

Route 190:
The contractor will be allowed to interfere with traffic Monday through Friday between 9:00 pm – 6:00 am, and Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 pm – 10:00 am.
Route 159, Ramps & Turning Roadways:
The contractor will be allowed to interfere with traffic Monday through Friday between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 6:00 am, and Saturday and Sunday between 6:00 pm – 10:00 am.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project consists of bridge joint replacements, blast cleaning and painting of beam ends and floorbeams, localized repairs and spot painting of superstructure steel, removal of deteriorated concrete, modifications to the bridge drainage system, and replacement of the asphalt wearing surface over the bridge deck and on the west approach between Route 159 and the bridge.
DOT Project No. 0139-0113 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Company, Inc. at a cost of $6,245,600.99 on April 9, 2020 and is scheduled to be completed on November 27, 2021.
