The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing several upcoming short-term closures of Interstate 95 on the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge. Each closure will occur for no more than 15-minute periods on Friday, October 23, 2020, in the southbound direction, and on Saturday, October 24, 2020, in the northbound direction, between the hours of 12 AM and 5 AM.
During each closure a systematic program of live-load truck tests will be performed using trucks of known weights and utilizing bridge monitoring instrumentation to collect strain and displacement information. The series of live-load tests will be repeated two more times over the course of the next two years. The collected data will be compared to anticipated data for inspection purposes, performance evaluation, and routine monitoring of the structure.
A rain date of October 25 will be utilized in the event of inclement weather.
