The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that railroad crossing repairs will be performed on the Route 75 (Ella T. Grasso Turnpike) railroad crossing located north of North Street in Windsor Locks. Work includes replacement of the railroad crossing riding surface.
To facilitate construction activities, Route 75 (Ella T. Grasso Turnpike) located north of North Street in Windsor Locks to be closed for consecutive days beginning on Friday, October 30, at 7 PM, to Monday, November 2, at 5 AM, unless the work is completed sooner.
This work is being performed by Connecticut Southern Railroad Company in cooperation with the Department of Transportation.
Route 75 (Ella T. Grasso Turnpike) northbound motorists will be detoured west onto Beacon Hill Road, north onto Light Lane back to Route 75. Route 75 (Ella T. Grasso Turnpike) southbound motorists will be detoured west onto Light Lane left onto Beacon Hill Road back to Route 75.
Traffic control personnel, police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour.
Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity and through all work zones.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
