The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled closure and detour of Route 57 in Weston from August 16, 2020, to August 29, 2020. The closure is necessary to facilitate construction activities for the rehabilitation of Bridge 06768.
Passenger vehicles traveling southbound on Route 57 between Route 53 (Cedar Street) and Route 136 (Main St), will be detoured onto Broad Street, Cavalry Road and West Branch Roads. Passenger vehicles traveling northbound will follow the same detour in reverse. Local access to residences and business along Route 57 will be available.
Trucks traveling southbound on Route 57 between Route 53 (Cedar Street) and Route 136 (Main St), will be detoured onto Route 53 (Cedar Street), Route 53 (Chestnut Hill Road), Route 33 (Westport Road), Route 33 (Wilton Road) and Route 57 (Main Street). Trucks traveling northbound will follow the same detour in reverse. Thru-truck traffic will be prohibited from Route 57 in the vicinity of the project. Local deliveries will be allowed.
Project 0173-0503 involves the rehabilitation of Structure No. 06768, which carries an unnamed brook under Route 57 in the town of Weston. DOT Project No. 0173-0503 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company Inc. at a cost of $1,934,070 on December 12, 2019 and is scheduled to be completed October 9, 2020.
