The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 68 in Cheshire and Wallingford beginning Sunday, May 31, 2020.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing 3.83 miles of Route 68 in Cheshire and Wallingford. This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, May 31, 2020 through Friday, July 10, 2020. The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, May 31, 2020 through Monday, June 15, 2020. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 through Friday, July 10, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 68 from Route 70 (South Meriden Road) to Begin Amtrak & US 5 (01867). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday night through Friday morning)
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
