The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the detouring of Route 57 in the Weston to facilitate repairs to Bridge 06768, originally scheduled for August 3, 2020, has been rescheduled to begin on August 9, 2020, and will remain in place for approximately 14 days.
Starting on or about August, 9, 2020, passenger vehicles traveling southbound on Route 57 between Route 53 (Cedar Street) and Route 136 (Main St), will be detoured onto Broad Street, Cavalry Road and West Branch Roads. Passenger vehicles traveling northbound will follow the same detour in reverse. Local access to residences and business along Route 57 will be available.
Trucks traveling southbound on Route 57 between Route 53 (Cedar Street) and Route 136 (Main St), will be detoured onto Route 53 (Cedar Street), Route 53 (Chestnut Hill Road), Route 33 (Westport Road), Route 33 (Wilton Road) and Route 57 (Main Street). Vehicles traveling northbound will follow the same detour in reverse. Thru truck traffic will be prohibited from Route 57 in the vicinity of the project. Local deliveries will be allowed.
DOT Project No. 0173-0503 was awarded to Dayton Construction Company Inc. at a cost of $1,934,070 on December 12, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed October 9, 2020.
