The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the rehabilitation of the Niantic River Draw Bridge starting April 17, 2020.
The project consists of painting structural steel, structural steel member replacement, deck joint replacement, concrete deck repair, electrical and mechanical system replacement, and control house rehabilitation.
DOT Project 44-154 was awarded The Middlesex Corporation at a cost of $13,969,969.00, and is scheduled to be completed December 17, 2021.
There will be intermittent alternating one-way traffic over the bridge from 7 AM to 7 PM from from April 17, 2020, to May 25, 2020. During peak summer months, May 25, 2020 to September 7, 2020, intermittent alternating one-way traffic will occur from 7 PM to 7 AM.
