The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge repair work on the I-84 westbound ramp to I-91 northbound (over the Connecticut River) in Hartford, is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 4, at 7 PM. An intermittent nighttime detour of the ramp may occur from 7 PM to 6 AM, when necessary to facilitate construction activities.
The detour will guide traffic off exit 51, taking a right-hand turn heading north onto Market Street. Followed by a right hand turn onto Leibert Street ,followed by a left hand turn onto Jennings Road, ending with a right onto I-91 North.
The work involves installation of under decking to perform structural steel repairs.
Project No. 0063-0712 was awarded to McNamee Construction of Lincolndale, New York on February 11, 2020 at a cost of $2,452,340. The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, District 1, Rocky Hill and is now scheduled to be completed by October 16, 2020.
